Key Responsibilities

Team Management

• Manage a team of approximately fifteen production operators.
• Assess and plan staffing requirements, including temporary labour support when needed.
• Maintain accurate records within the time management system, including attendance anomalies, absences, lateness, holidays and time-off arrangements.
• Approve or decline holiday requests in accordance with operational requirements and company policies.
• Conduct performance and development reviews with team members.
• Monitor absenteeism and implement awareness and improvement actions where appropriate.
• Support the development of employees’ skills and competencies.
• Ensure effective communication between shifts to guarantee operational continuity.

Operational Management

• Ensure production plans are executed on time and in line with standard efficiency targets.
• Monitor production schedules and take appropriate actions to ensure successful completion. Escalate any deviations to your manager.
• Close production work orders in SAP and record relevant production comments.
• Analyse downtime and inefficiencies, implement corrective actions or engage the appropriate teams when required.
• Escalate information to management to support corrective action plans.
• Review production reports and prepare summaries for operational meetings to identify improvement opportunities.
• Make decisions and take actions necessary to maintain optimal production performance, escalating issues where required.
• Monitor and update machine performance KPIs.
• Prepare and maintain operational reports.
• Ensure equipment operates effectively in collaboration with the Maintenance Department.
• Maintain optimum levels of quality and production efficiency.
• Ensure production areas and equipment remain clean, organised and compliant with company standards.
• Ensure raw material and consumable stock levels are properly managed.
• Provide cover for absent colleagues when requested by management.
• Apply technical expertise to resolve machine issues promptly and ensure rapid restart of production equipment.
• Identify tooling or production equipment issues and report them to management.
• Secure defective equipment immediately and prevent its use in accordance with internal procedures.
• Ensure machine changeovers and preparations are completed efficiently.
• Personally support technical troubleshooting and machine adjustments when necessary or involve the Maintenance Department.
• Assist with production tooling installation in support of, or in place of, Set-Up Technicians when required by production planning.

Health & Safety

• Lead by example in applying all health and safety rules and act as a key ambassador of the company’s safety culture.
• Identify and address unsafe behaviours, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Organise induction and training programmes for new employees in accordance with internal procedures, including mentoring and training on safety and quality standards.
• Participate in meetings as required and implement agreed action plans.

Quality

• Verify product quality following machine set-ups and before production starts, refining settings when necessary to optimise quality.
• Conduct quality checks on products produced across all production lines and complete quality inspection reports.
• Implement immediate corrective actions when quality deviations occur.
• Quarantine non-conforming products and notify the QESH Department without delay.
• Participate in the release process for non-conforming products and provide the required documentation to the QESH Department.
